You may have noticed or heard in the news that the oil market had unprecedented volatility on Monday this week. In fact, the futures contract for May West Texas Intermediate Crude (aka WTI) fell to a NEGATIVE PRICE for the first time ever.

Never ever ever did I think I would be having THIS conversation with Max that you see below! (copied from our Twitter account)

That's right...  If you had a way to transport and store a barrel of oil, you could have been paid to do so today (pick it up tomorrow). If you are confused, don’t worry about it.

A futures contract is a legal agreement to buy or sell something at a predetermined price at a specified time in the future, between parties not known to each other.

This is deeper than I ever intended to go, but I wanted to share the story. Feel free to reply if you are truly curious as to why/how this happens, and I will explain it as best I can.

Finally, we are excited to share our new video "commercial" we put together for the Digital Conference for Homeschooling. We probably should have done this a year ago, but we were overwhelmed with learning a million new things at the time, and didn't have time to learn video editing. Better late than never!!
