Just like the rest of the world, we are finding ourselves spending more and more time on video conferences. May has already been off the charts for J. J. doing video presentations, and we are just getting started!
THIS WEEK, J. J. will kick off a 4 week session of Personal Finance for Teens (via Zoom Video) to students based in the San Jose area. He begins another session for students in the San Clemente area next week (also via Zoom). Each of these sessions are at capacity, but let us know if you are interested, and we will add you to the waiting list for the next session (date TBD). CLICK HERE to learn more.
ALSO THIS WEEK, J. J. will be teaching a class for an Indonesian audience with the help of our new friend Budi Setiawan. Budi is a financial literacy advocate in his home of Jakarta, Indonesia, and recently read our book and invited J. J. to do a class, "Millennials and Financial Literacy: What They Need to Know".
LAST WEEK, J. J. was a guest speaker for the Facebook group Women Who Thrive. He did a 90 minute session on "The ABC's of Buying Stocks" via video conference. CLICK HERE to see the video. J. J. thought that the audience could only see his slides, and wasn't aware that HE was visible to them as well. He has this "thing he does" where he messes with his hair while talking (if nobody is looking), and it led to some comic relief for all of us. It also led to this social media post.
ALSO LAST WEEK, J. J. was a guest in Professor Dimitris "Money Man" Magemeneas's Finance class at Cal State San Marcos via Zoom video. J. J. shared things he "wished he had known in college", as well as other life and investing tips. He told students, no matter what they do, find a way to "save as much money as possible, as early as possible, to give yourselves career flexibility later in life." J. J. will speak to Dimitris's class at the University of Saint Katherine Wednesday of this week.
ALSO LAST WEEK, J. J. was a guest speaker for a high school homeschool economics class in Southern California, where he presented the ABC's of Buying Stocks. It was a fun class, and the kids asked great questions!
As you can tell, we've been BUSY! You may know that J. J. is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional (since 2008), but he also recently received the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR designation from the National Financial Educators Council. He looks forward to continuing to put it to good use in the community.
Thanks for reading! Have a great week!
